Opening the EP, the unique Fork immediately pulls us into sad face’s quirky world, consistently surprising us every 16 bars. sad face. then crafts both a wistful and uplifting display of rhythm and melody in Okay, with a Paul Simon-influenced chorus hook. Boya pulls back the drapes and shakes out the rug with a jogging beat and placidly optimistic brass hooks.
Refusing to be boxed in by a genre, sad face. continues their sonic search for something more on ‘Sapien’ and brings us along for the ride.
