The 2021 event returns after a record-breaking BASSINTHEGRASS 2019, which saw 10,000 festivalgoers converge on Mindil Beach.
Heading into its 18th year, BASSINTHEGRASS 2021 will feature two main stages offering nonstop entertainment from midday to midnight, with attendees experiencing the Top End’s famous sunsets and warm, tropical weather.
Set to play at BASSINTHEGRASS – and in the Northern Territory for the first time – is Australian indie rock band The Jungle Giants.
Lead guitarist Cesira Aitken said the group was excited to come to Darwin to play BASSINTHEGRASS.
“It’s been such a long time between shows, and this will be our first time in the Northern Territory,” she said.
“It’ll be a special time after such a weird year, we can’t wait!” Australian electropop duo Boo Seeka – made up of Ben Gumbleton and Michael May – said they were keen to get back to the Top End for BASSINTHEGRASS.
“It’s easily one of our favourite festivals,” Michael said.
“Darwin is such an awesome place and we’re both really looking forward to playing for fans at Mindil Beach next year in May.”
Northern Territory Major Events Company CEO Tim Watsford said he was stoked to confirm the line-up for next year’s BASSINTHEGRASS.
“With such a great selection of acts we expect music fans from around Australia to venture north, where they can soak up the sun, sand and good vibes at what has become an unmissable
event for Territorians,” he said.
“BASSINTHEGRASS is the perfect excuse to start planning your Territory adventure.”
