This week on FORUM we have a special guest DJ, Pradip Sarkar, aka Docta Deep.

Pradip Sarkar aka Docta Deep is a Melbourne-based DJ, producer, and academic, with an avid interest in bass-heavy electronics and leftfield Hip Hop made from obscure samples, sourced world-wide from distant places.

Pradip has been a DJ for over fifteen years along with being a show host and guest presenter for other radio stations and shows in Melbourne.

Additionally, Pradip performs live with his group  Sikander, a local outfit that blends electronics with live Eastern instrumentation and vocals.

And just to keep himself extra busy, Pradip is currently undertaking a PhD in the School of Media and Communications at RMIT, researching the Techno-Agency of do-it-yourself beat-makers in the Southern reaches of the globe.

As part of the FORUM show, Pradip will play a DJ mix consisting of selections that showcase the moodier creations of contemporary music producers from India, Africa, the UK, and the Arab world.
