Since 2014, Zanias has existed as the unrepentant creative venture of Alison Lewis, born in Australia, raised in Southeast Asia, and also known for her vocal work with Linea Aspera, Keluar and a record shelf’s worth of collaborations with the likes of Black Rain, Ancient Methods, Dax J and I Hate Models.
She has become one of the most well-known and respected voices in her niche, particularly in her current base of Berlin, and through her solo project has developed a fiercely independent production style of instantly recognisable ethereal otherness and charisma.
Her DJ sets favour euphoric rhythms, evocative melodies and creative use of vocals over any particular genre, deftly traversing the realms of techno, wave, italo body music, trance and electro.
In 2023 she released her third full-length solo album titled ‘Chrysalis’, an “ethereal pop opus” according to PostPunk.com, on her own independent record label, Fleisch Records, and toured her work across four continents from Vancouver to Tbilisi.
