LUMERTZ is a Brazilian/ Italian Dj and music producer from the south of Brazil now currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Son of a musician, LUMERTZ always had music as part of his life and was always stimulated to pursue studies in the area from a young age and having learned how to play different instruments like the sweet flute, drums, guitar and piano. At age of 12, through a cousin he had his first contact with DJing that further would develop to a passion.

 

In 2017 after graduating in architecture and urban planning and a few years experiencing life as a clubber,  LUMERTZ found himself on the music path. First re-learning how to DJ and a few months after, feeling the need to express his creativity by creating things, he gave his first steps into music production. During his studies he fell in love with Techno music, specially in its roots originated in Detroit and in the hypnotic and looped vibes that grew strong across Europe, more specifically in Berlin and London.

 

After 2 years DJing in Brazil and building his music identity, LUMERTZ felt the need to reach new places, where his style would be more easily accepted, therefore in 2019 he decided to move to Australia to pursue the goal of a music career. In his time living in Australia, LUMERTZ already conquered some great and solid marks. From playing in some of the finest venues in Australia to sharing the stage with some of the finest international and local names, such as Setaoc Mass, Victor Ruiz, Arnaud Le Texier, Cleric, Gabriel Moraes, Lisa May and more.

 

In 2021 he finally started to release his own songs and remixes through some Australian and Brazilian labels. In 2023, after a period of ‘rebranding’ and self development as a producer, he started to release his songs again with a new strong identity. The first of the many to be released this year is coming on  ‘Noise Music’, the oldest and one of the biggest Brazilian Techno labels in the world.

 

With no doubt LUMERTZ can be seen consolidating his steps in the world’s music scene. With his songs conquering the attention and support of artists like Richie Hawtin, Juliet Fox, Lea Occhi, Anika Kunst, Justine Perry, Tessuto and in festivals/ clubs like Awakenings, DGTL, Sonus, Monegro, Neopop, Watergate, Space Miami, just to name a few. LUMERTZ presents himself as a name to be kept in mind of the new generation of Techno artists.
