ALAN COTTON & BOGDAN DULLSKY | GUEST INTERVIEW | FORUM | LEE-ANN JOY | MON 8:30 – 10 PM Mon 8:30 – 10 pm

Monday night will hear us talking to two artists, Alan Cotton and Bogdan Dullsky.  Alan will be discussing his latest exhibition, FRAMEWORKS and what it is to be a re-emerging artist after a ten-year break, and Bogdan Dullsky from Transnistria (Moldova), who is part of a sound-art series called Sound Forum, discussing his audio-visual installations titled ‘Everything is Conditional, that the Reserve becomes Tangible.’  Both artists will be discussing their beautiful artwork and what it takes to pull together an exhibition and the pressures and constraints involved.

Alan Cotton has had a ten year break from the art world and is re-emerging as an installation artist coming from an extensive history in theatre design and costume manufacturing and has worked for Anouska Hempel, the famous couture fashion designer in London, the Victorian State Opera, the Australian Opera, as well as designing and manufacturing for the Queensland Theatre Company. Further,  Alan has a tradition of producing videos and photographs, and recently achieved a sell-out exhibition that featured the photographs of St Kilda’s beautiful old building, the Gatwick,   prior to the Block taking it over with their re-build. Currently,  Alan is studying   Visual Arts at Box Hill Institute of TAFE.  Alan’s latest exhibition titled Frameworks explores the boundaries of design, painting, sculpture and photography using found objects that are repurposed and recreated into fine works of art to represent social and environmental awareness.

Bogdan Dullsky composes his music which acts as a starting point for his visuals. He then directs and produces the content with the help of his friends. His conceptual driving force for creativity is to Respect every Person, NO Racism, NO Sexism and NO Discrimination. These ideologies form the basis of his latest exhibition that explores all things that are conditional that causes the reserves to become tangible.  His relationship to nature and others is apparent as he seeks to understand his social position by questioning his external environments that ultimately give meaning to his placement in the world.
