Melbourne born & bred, Dj Papa Tom’s lure to the siren-call of the decks began but, a mere couple of decades ago. His love affair with music though, started long before, at the wee-age of 5 & the acquisition of his first 7” record. Over the years, the love affair turned to passion.

Passion to obsession. Hunting down his favourite tunes on vinyl became a part of life. Highly influenced by local ace djs during Melbourne’s ‘golden age’ of the underground house & club scene [mid-late ‘9Os], his music styling & collection
started to bow at the seams. In 2001, during an arvo of sharing papa’s grooves at an after-party recovery, the question was posed: “So, why aren’t you a  DJ?” Papa was granted permission to go forth & spread the gospel… & he did… 18+ years on, his love of all things groove; a fusion of funk, disco [stirred & shaken!], ol’ school house, interlaced with deep ‘n’ techy beats, has solidified his sound… deep, dubby ‘n’ discofied. A.k.a, the ‘other’ half of the debauched minds behind the infamous ‘Nurse Betty presents…REHAB’, ‘FUR’ & ‘Quörk: Mutant Disco’ parties…

Currently continuing his longstanding residency @ The Laird Hotel, he has also played to the funk-abled @ venues & one-nighters across Melbourne & beyond, incl. Honcho Disko, Poof Doof, Bimbo Deluxe, The Carlton, Gertrude Hotel, Sircuit, The Market, Girl Bar, 4 x 4, Extra Dirty, Tropical Fruits Pool Party/NYDay After-Party, Nurse Betty presents… , FUR [of course…] & most recently joining the team at ‘Where Love Lives’.
