Every so often there are events which happen that change our perception. When we find the truly unique, we want to celebrate with friends. If they stand the test of time, we gather together and call it REDSQR.
Searching high and low throughout Australia and internationally for these acts, the ultimate goal is quality over quantity.
This will be the first REDSQR, of only a few in 2014.
We would tell you all about Redshape, but we don’t know who he actually is. He hides his real identity behind a red mask at all times, even wearing it onstage at his club dates around Europe, which of late there have been many. We do know the man behind the mask lives in Berlin, he does a rocking live act and he’s released half a dozen tracks over the last year or so on labels such as Delsin, Styrax Leaves and Music Man. We also can reveal he has studied a lot of old Detroit techno records: His sound is a new update on old school templates.

Before the club shows start, keen producers can catch him hosting a sound session workshop as part of CDR‘s local launch event at Loop on February 27th, which will also include a mastering Q&A from hometown engineer Tony “Jack The Bear” Mantz.
The following night he’ll hit the stage for a live performance at the Royal Melbourne Hotel as part of Funf’s REDSQR series,
before he heads up to One22 in Sydney on March 1st for a Sonido party that also features Tom Harwood, T-Boy and Seher.
His third and final set will be at Sugar in Adelaide on March 2nd.
