Acid Safari, Mike Callander, and Honeysmack join forces in their FIRST EVER Hybrid Acid performance, combining DJing and Live improvised Acid Techno!

A unique set, never experienced before in Australia where all three artists blend live record selection and real time machine programming. Get ready to be hit by a sonic wall of pure Acid Techno in an intimate Boiler Room style dance floor.

This inaugural performance of Hybrid Acid takes place on 7.07, a day celebrating the legendary Roland drum machine, the TR-707 Rhythm Composer. The 707 was a stalwart of early Acid House and its sound is still reverberating throughout electronic dance music today. Expect a new dancefloor experience as three legends of Melbourne Acid and Techno collide and present a new Acid Techno experience — are you ready to expand your mind in the future sound now?

Acid Safari: Right track at the right time, anywhere, and surely anytime, that is Acid Safari. This Spanish born; Australian DJ has been one of the not so well-kept secrets in the world renown Melbourne scene for many years. Acid Safari has played in most high calibre events in Australia, across a wide range of styles. His weekly show on KISS FM – Radio Bueno is cult acid.

Mike Callander: Mike is one of Australia’s most prolific techno DJs, researcher, music producer and live show designer. His works have appeared on TV shows, DJ mix compilations, as well as in art galleries, and of course dark sweaty nightclubs.

Honeysmack: Pioneer of Australian Acid and Techno since the early 1990s. He is best known for his dynamic and entertaining improvised live shows utilising vintage hardware. A maverick artist who brings a punk-rock aesthetic and philosophy to electronic music.

Eluize: Moonlighter at heart, Eluize spends her time writing, creating and curating house, techno, acid and electro to soundtrack the hours. Her sonic leanings span from dubby and spacious, through euphoric and orchestral to intense and acidic, incorporating unique blends of traditional instruments, drum machines, synths and pristine vocals.

Chiara Kickdrum: Born and raised in Torino, Italy, Chiara is a Melbourne-based composer, DJ and musician. Her artistic appreciation and blend of music disciplines allow her to produce an eclectic range of musical outcomes.

Henry Who: Melbourne all nighters, Chapel St breakfast discos and doof-arenas are Henry Who’s penchant when called to arms. A DJ technically adept as he is versatile, he can be seen with a couple of USBs, or even a tote bag of 45’s residing at Melbourne’s institutional clubs.
