Freedom Time #2 – Coburg Velodrome

Coming to Melbourne for the second edition of the series, Freedom Time #2 continues the ethos of presenting music on a local handmade soundsytem in a unique space.

For his first headline show in Melbourne in two years Sam Shepard aka Floating Points will be taking the stage off the back of his debut album release on his newly established label Pluto.

As prominent a name in the booth as he is in the studio, Floating Points is known across the world for his expansive DJ sets that incorporate vinyl only sessions of jazz, soul, disco, Brazilian and electronica – Like his contemporaries and good friends Caribou and Four Tet, Shepherd has nurtured the Floating Points name into one renowned for ambitious and forward-thinking DJ sets.

Coburg Velodrome, established in 1976 will be transformed into a dance arena for Freedom Time #2, it’s inaugural music event. Featuring an underpass and a 250m Olympic sized concrete cycling track, the interior section of the velodrome will play host to the mighty Heartical HiFi and a wide selection of food and beverage.
