A little snippet into Late Night Date’s take on house music is uniquely raw and passionate, a culmination of diverse musical influences and years of curating, collecting and selecting records. 

His selection covers a spectrum of dance music genres with a common thread running through each track – a je ne sais quoi, creating a distinctive and recognisable sound characterised by lush saturated synths, rolling basslines, swinging high hats and kicks with just the right amount of grit, making for grooving rich textured rhythms. 

His influences are diverse and eclectic, ranging from Bicep, Moodyman, Anthony Naples, Mall Grab and Chaos In The CBD, through to moody post-punk and electronica infused outfits such as Interpol and Radiohead. He spent years playing in bands before serendipitously discovering djing in 2009. Since then he’s ventured below the already overpopulated glossy surface of dance music, with a slew of regular slots across Melbourne – a scene that needs no introduction for those who know. 

Launching into the year with a memorable set at Falls Festival – the year is looking bright! With eyes set abroad and travel plans locked in for a Europe season and Amsterdam Dance Event 2018 (ADE), Late Night Dates dreams are getting closer.
