Patrick Verlin, or KREJUS, as some know him by, can’t get enough of Timmy Byrne and Kissfm. He returns this Friday to the 3pm Guest Mix slot to share with you another eclectic mix of records that he has curated from his expansive collection. He joins us on the show also, to talk about an upcoming event which he has been working tirelessly on called Tessellate. Tessellate is run through a new crew he is apart of called Crate Mates, and is the future of their big club events which will be held semi-regularly at locations around Melbourne. It’s initial offering, is to be held at the new underground location in South Melbourne, GROUNDFLOOR. Sporting a blasting set of Funktion 1s, awe inspiring lighting setups, visual art projections and some funky Crate art which the Crate Mates crew are constructing together; it is certainly going to be a night of diverse pleasures.
In 2017, KREJUS founded the Vinyl Appreciation Society to bring a collective of like-minded university students together to appreciate vinyl and mix together. He continues to run events through university and provides amateur DJs a chance to learn to mix with vinyl.
He now runs a weekly radio show through this club, called Vinyl Appreciation Hour, which hosts special guests to his garage each week, with interviews and music for the hour.
His most recent endeavors have been focused on running unique and diverse events through new crew Crate Mates where he resides as founding member and resident DJ.
