Mateo Calle is a DJ from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his music career when he was 15 years old (5 years ago). His father is a Sound Engineer so Mateo grew up around music listening to the sounds of jazz, bossa nova, rock, chillout & many other genres.
Mateo cut his teeth playing in the bars and clubs in his native city Argentina while finishing his high school. He then traveled to New Zealand where his eyes and ears were opened to new sounds and a new scene. It was here that he teamed up with the crew from the label “Widening The North” and began putting on parties at Mount Maunganui – belting out house music throughout the Summer.
Now residing in Melbourne Mateo has been quick to immerse himself in the local scene. playing at The Kodiac Club, Red Eyes Bar , Hotel Barkly, Sister of Society and selected private parties.
His music varies according to the occasion, the place, the people, the aesthetics and according to his momentary state. His favorite music genres include House music, Deep House, Micro House, Ambient, Chill Out, Funk, Nu-Jazz and Techno.
