CARMINE ROMANO | 6PM FRIDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2022

Ahead of his gig at Where Love Lives supporting Russell Small of Freemasons (UK) – The Prince St. Kilda Sat 15th OCT – Carmine plays live on Kiss FM.

Carmine Romano (born and raised in Melbourne) is an Australian DJ.

From the young age of 14, he started developing his sound through parties and private functions.

In 1995, he took his step into the industry at club Saratoga (Melbourne). Mixing Deep House sounds, very quickly, he gained attention throughout the Melbourne underground club scene.

Through the mid-90s, he toured international events such as DMC World Technics (Italy) and moved his way throughout Europe and the UK.

Returning back home to Melbourne, the late-90s saw Carmine build his name at numerous iconic clubs such as Monkey, The Mansion, The Dome, Uranus, Redheads, Subway and The Milk Bar.

Having established a presence for himself at home, he began to collaborate with international DJs Mark Farina, David Seaman, Judge Jules, Jeremy Healey, Derrick Carter and the legendary Grammy award winner Frankie Knuckles.

In 1999, Carmine ventured to the USA, at the Miami winter music conference. His hard work, persistence and humble nature saw his career continue to get bigger and brighter.

The Ministry of Sound, Savage at the Paladin, Tasty, Trade Tour, Monkey (Sydney) and the massive Style AID event (Sydney) are just some of the events where he was a feature act.

Carmine then gained a permanent residency at Seven nightclub and Freakazoid (Melbourne). This is where he collaborated with Steve ’Silk’ Hurley, Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez, Teddy Douglas, Sinclair and Vocalists Chance and Latanza Waters.

Throughout the 2000s, he was featured on Radio Stations Kiss FM, Triple J and PBS (Melbourne).

His career has not only been limited to behind the Decks, but also organising and producing events at the Market nightclub and hotel. He was also at the forefront of rebuilding the Market’s sound system to be the finest in Melbourne. His time there saw him reconnect with Frankie Knuckles, as well as David Morales, Deep Swing, Knee Deep, Nicky Siano (Studio 54 NYC), Quentin Harris, Sandy Rivera (Kings of Tomorrow) and Vocalists Barbara Tucker, Inaya Day and Martha Wash.
