4pm Today special 30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY MIX REMEMBERING THE FINAL NIGHTS OF PARADISE GARAGE SEPTEMBER 1987

The next few days of this week are the exact 30 Year anniversary of the final days, on September 25 – 28, 1987, of the Paradise Garage based at 84 King St. New York, NY. with DJ Larry Levan (RIP) Mixing on Thorens TD-125 MKII Turntables and a Urei 1620 Mixer. The images include Larry, Keith Haring, the artist responsible for the timeless artwork, the dance-floor, the building entrance plus the legendary logo and the dancefloor end. 30 years after the closing the legend and the music lives on with the Larry Levan Way.

The art of DJing has traveled so far away from the embryo of dance music perfection delivered by everybody involved in the 10 year reign of the Paradise Garage now with many millionaire DJ’s sets already pre-mixed on USB sticks time-coded to the gig’s video and light show so there is no mixing or selection of music being actually done live to the dancefloor from the DJ booth. We live in a time of Fake news and Fake DJing too..
