Kiss FM - Dance Music Australia

KLP & STACE CADET | GUEST MIX | 6PM THURSDAY 24TH JUNE 2021

Stace Cadet Australian producer, DJ, and vocalist Stace Cadet is creating some of the most tempo-raising dance music in the electronic world right now. Born Stasi Kotaras, the Adelaide-based artist has made a name for himself by creating music that promotes a joyous, euphoric experience. He celebrates dance music for what it is at its very core – a collision of music and human movement.

‘Energy’ has continued to notch up accolades since its release. It currently boasts over 25 million streams worldwide and an ARIA Platinum certification, ‘Energy’ was then also awarded the No.1 ARIA Club record for 2020. These were just some of the highlights that capped off a stacked 2020 for Stace Cadet. ‘Energy’ was also nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Dance Release. To cap it all off ‘Energy’ landed itself at 21 in triple j’s hottest 100, an incredible feat! Safe to say ‘Energy’ was one of the biggest Australian records last year. It’s not just Australia who’ve been getting a burst of energy from Stace Cadet. ‘Energy’ has been labeled a ‘Future Anthem’ by BBC Radio1 with spins from Pete Tong & MistaJam, also hitting #1 on the UK Cool Cuts chart.

With the teams at Medium Rare Recordings & Sony behind him Stace Cadet is gearing up for a year of more releases and touring – capitalising on a ground breaking 2020. Houston, no problem here – let’s dance!

KLP (Kristy Lee Peters) is a Sydney-based 2 x ARIA nominated performer, songwriter, DJ, producer, broadcaster and an in-demand international collaborator with some of music’s biggest and freshest names.

She also works with, and raises money for, young women and non-binary people in the music industry, through the non-profit organisation she launched and operates, Ricochet.

Her latest single, Energy, with Stace Cadet, was one of the biggest tracks of the year, hitting number four on Australian Shazam for six-weeks (ten weeks in the top 10). triple j shared the Energy, putting the track on full rotation, as did Nova Late Nights where it reached #1 most played Australian track at radio and went on to spend 4 weeks at #1 on the ARIA Club chart. It was Ministry Of Sound UK track of the week, was championed by Pete Tong and Mistajam at BBC radio, and hit Top 5 in Australia and #11 in the UK Spotify Viral Charts. The song went on to be nominated for Best Dance Release at the 2020 ARIA Awards and has recently been certified as a Gold Record.

KLP’s reputation as a dynamic force in the Australian music industry is built on a formidable body of electronic pop and dance music, that ranges from joyous, intense to mesmerising, but always extraordinarily well[1]produced, and addictive.

The singles Heater, Push and Giver, from her debut album have been embraced on global streaming platforms and featured in NMF UK, New Dance Beats and key US dance playlists. KLP mixed the Ministry of Sound Session revamp in 2018, which was a huge success and went to number one in the dance album charts on iTunes.

Her collaborative song-writing talent, and exquisite, distinctive vocals have seen her work with Skrillex on the viral hit GOH and What So Not on the breakthrough, sync favourite Jaguar. She has also created significant and successful work with Slumberjack, Snails, Thandi Phoenix, Goldfields, Zimmer, Julian Hamilton (The Presets), Set Mo, Nicole Millar, L Fresh The Lion, Matt Okine and more.

She was also a beloved host of Australia’s biggest dance music radio show, triple j’s House Party for five years, throwing a party in Australia’s loungerooms and cars every Saturday night, before stepping down from the coveted gig in 2019 to focus on her own music.

KLP has torn up the stage at profile events and festivals, including Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Party in the Paddock, Field Day, Southbound and The Hills are Alive. As a host and performer, KLP has worked with brands such as YSL, Spotify, H&M, Mumm, Nike, The Melbourne Cup, The Adelaide Cup and the Commonwealth Games. She has interviewed talent such as Mark Ronson for Spotify and Peking Duk, What So Not and Tigerlily for MTV.

As an APRA AMCOS Ambassador and mentor, KLP finds huge reward in mentoring and working with young singers and songwriters looking to break into the industry. Working with the APRA AMCOS program SongMakers Kristy has travelled Australia working with communities throughout. Kristy is a tastemaker and often called upon to appear on and host high profile panels.

In 2018 KLP launched her ‘Ricochet’ initiative and hosted 2 highly successful events Ricochet BALL (a netball game with 12 teams coming together to raise over $50k for charities) and Ricochet SONGS which saw 16 artists such as Montaigne, Alex The Astronaut, Thandi Phoenix, Ninajirachi, Kota Banks and more come together with a focus on strengthening the outer corners of the creative process. Both events returned in 2019 and continue to grow in impact and reputation.

In 2020 kristy launched an exciting new musical project alongside Matt Okine ‘Diver City’ – a reimagined and much cooler take on children’s music. The duo released their debut album on ABC Kids which was nominated for Best Children’s Release at the 2020 ARIA Awards. With more music and a live show slated for 2021, Diver City are expanding their world into the new year.
