Tune into Boogie Bound (2-3pm Thursday), your new home of all things Disco, Funk, Soul and Boogie. This week host Oliver Francis will be joined in the studio by guest Xander Byng, one half of Melbourne label Houses in Motion.
The two will be swapping tunes as well as getting the inside scoop ahead of Xander’s third instalment of Native Tongues, at Korova Milk Bar.
“Native Tongues returns for its third instalment to celebrate local talent and raise money for a great cause.
Proceeds from the night will go towards the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, whose vision is to ensure those seeking asylum have their human rights upheld.
With a dysfunctional government dictating the lives of those in need contrasting a wealth of people willing to enable change, the plight of asylum seekers is at the forefront of political and social agendas.
We’ve seen some positive progression over the last few months largely due to the determination of organisations such as the ASRC, but there is a clear ongoing need for more assistance for those without a voice.
$10 entry before midnight, $15 after.
$5 Carlton stubbies all night
Korova is a cash-only venue.”
