Tevatron – 30 minute guest mix on Brain Food – 11.30pm to 1am – 18th of January
Steve Destailleur AKA Tevatron was born in Lille and discovered underground music at the age of 14. He joined the street dance movement in his area and organised underground break dance shows. He discovered electro music with titles like Planet Rock by Afrika Bambaattaa, The Message by Grandmaster Flash, Jam On It by Newcleus and Clear by Cybotron (Juan Atkins). His passion for electronic music came from listening to these pioneers.
In 1987, he started to dj at house and techno parties by playing pieces from top American record labels like Transmat, Dance Mania, UR, Trax Records and Metroplex.
In 1996, Steve moved to Belgium to sign his Tevatron project on the legendary Belgian Re-Load label. His Drumscape EP was a major hit. It fast-tracked his career to top billing at the Kozzmozz, The Fuse, I Love Techno and at the Rex Club in Paris.
Tevatron went on to release many tracks and remixes on record labels including Recycled Loops, Intec Records, Turbo Recordings, Surface, Fuel Records, Paraphonik, Eskimo Recordings, Choice, UMF, Amuk, Thurst, E-Tronics, Nulab and more.
Today, Tevatron runs his own record label named Metrohm. His work has been remixed by international techno stars such as Joey Beltram (New York, USA), DJ 3000 (Detroit, USA) and Samuel L Session (Sweden).
Tevatron’s productions have been played and supported by Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Christian Smith, Carl Cox, Luke Slater, Joey Beltram, Ben Sims, Umek, Tiga, DJ Bone, Samuel L Session and more.
