This Friday, 19th August 2022, on Diggin’ Down Under, Datsuzoku is back with the Artist Dig of the month where he will be presenting this weeks dose of eclectic selections whilst having an up-close chat with the “Tandem Reserve” crew a DJ Trio from Melbourne (Australia) followed by featuring their mixes for our patrons in the land down under and overseas.

Tandem Reserve are an energetic & eclectic house DJ trio based in Naarm. They jump through classic disco tunes, steady house rhythms & evolving textures. Bouncing off one another’s energy, they rouse the dance floor together. You can catch Rhath, S.T.P & AB1 every Friday at the Golden Monkey or at Radio Bar the last Saturday of every month. Tandem Reserve are constantly hosting events, building community, and letting loose on the decks.

In recent years Rhath has defined his signature sound across solo & collaborative projects. Bombastic use of drum samples & sci-fi tinged synths form a backdrop for underground rap. He is proving himself as one of the most unique and energetic voices in Melbourne hip-hop. Over self-produced tracks, he paints a cinematic image through his lyrical hip hop. While running creative collective Vibe Union, Rhath continues to offer up fresh new music, showing he’s here to build a legacy.

S.T,P

S.T.P is a vivacious disco & house dj based in Naarm. Spanning from Afro disco, early 2000’s house, 70’s disco oldies all with the occasional powerful gospel sample thrown in the mix too! You’ll want to just dance along with her while these beats are blasting! Known for her work with the DJ trio Tandem Reserve she’s always wanting to start the party and get you moving, it’s sure to be a fun time when S.T.P hits play!

AB1

AB1 is a DJ & artist with a focus on disco, house and soulful tunes. Drawn to atmospheric and moody vibes, he tends to lean towards electronic music that has a tasty base-line, haunting piano or saxophone solo which captures the ear and entrances listeners. Based in Melbourne and working predominantly with DJ collective Tandem Reserve and creative collective Vibe Union, his sets range from high energy dance music to groovy, relaxed mixes that take the listener on a journey through various genres and emotions in a way that always focuses on showcasing the music he loves.
