Subversive is a DJ veteran of the LA techno community, currently focusing on remix and original output. Through his longtime participation in Droid Behavior and association with Raíz he helped form the VRV label, which has become a platform for both artists. Previous releases have appeared on Historia y Violencia and French label Construct Re-Form, where he collaborated with Voiski as Deception Plan. Subversive’s performances and productions flow between varying styles of techno, electro, and tribal, echoing remnants of Kalamazoo, Birmingham, and Detroit’s depth.

VRV is a label headed by Raíz and Subversive. The project features conceptual, thematic releases relating the ideas, experiences, and emotions of various artists over dance floor functionality. Symbols will be used to represent tracks non-verbally and imagery will be used to further capture the artist’s message. Deep at the heart of the label is the purpose to infuse the Techno genre with musicality and release tracks that can be appreciated both in and away from the club scene. Music will be released on various mediums including vinyl, tape, and digital. All physical products will be presented uniquely via creative design and presentation.
