SO.Crates is Melbourne born and raised producer SKOMES and MC Cazeaux O.S.L.O, a California born Australian resident. Since 2015, the pair have played extensively throughout Melbourne, supporting the likes of Stones Throw Records, Black Milk, Rapper Big Pooh, AFTA-1, 30/70, Mndsgn, Ivan Ave and more, including sets at Strawberry Fields 2016, 2017.

Their sound is a culmination of their shared love for jazz, soul and hip hop in the vein of groups such as De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and the late 90s/early 2000s Rawkus era. The pair self-released the modern classic cassette tape ‘Static Methods EP’ in May 2016, which sold out and was chosen by PBS FM show Fresh Produce as one of their top 5 hip hop releases of 2016.

In 2019, the band released a new 7” via Northside Records – ‘Mama Danced on Soul Train’, a soul-infused dedication to Cazeaux O.S.L.O’s mum who ACTUALLY danced on Soul Train. Following this release, SO.Crates’ much anticipated full LP is set to be released on Bedroom Suck records in the first half of 2020.
