Becoming mates listening to Aussie hip hop out of a brick phone on the tram home from school, Pace Notes have been sharing hip hop and early Jamaican music for the last 14 years. After discovering DnB and Jungle in the mid ’10s, the love of sampled breaks and Carribean baselines inevitably grew. This passion has kept the Technics spinning licorice pies ever since, with their deeply subversive sound shaped by a collection of ’94 to contemporary jungle records.
Running regular jungle nights at Radio Bar and a monthly residency at Rumbler has lead to their sound system debut on Echo Chamber Sound System at Run It Red. The young lads bring energy to a scene which is as old as they are, and in an attempt to burn down Babylon, Pace Notes are pouring fuel on the fire of a recent jungle resurgence.
