Nick Coleman is a music producer, live performer & DJ from Melbourne Australia, based in Dusseldorf. A classically trained violinist (A.Mus) and guitarist Coleman completed a Bachelor of Music at Queensland University of Technology.

To date Coleman has written and produced numerous ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Dance Chart Top 10’s, Top 10 Pop Chart tracks, Beatport Top 10’s, and a club hit which was voted into‘The Australian Top 100 Greatest Dance Tracks of All Time’.

Support from Carl Cox, Patrick Topping, Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), DJ Hell, Annie Mac (BBC Radio1) and Moguai reflect the diverse range of Coleman’s music.

His new album Nick Coleman Live is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation, at the forefront electronic music technology and performance.

In 2017 Coleman programmed software enabling him to play synthesisers and iOS instruments using the violin, becoming the first violinist in the world to achieve this. During the album recording process, pioneering synthesiser makers Moog and Elektron invited Coleman to beta test their software and iOS synths, as he re-defined the possibilities of electronic music and live performance.

Suckmusic label founder and Melbourne native Nick Coleman’s  album is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation at the forefront of electronic music technology and live performance.

The album’s intent is most obviously realised in the artists live performance of it, beginning to end. Separate the songs from this context and you are still left with a sense of clarity, a singular narrative that evokes its own emotion without any expectation of having to commit to anything else. The extremes are quite distinct, but that doesn’t really matter, as long as it makes you feel something.
