Muiscaya hits Kiss FM tomorrow at 12 noon. Born in Bogotá, shaped by years in Melbourne, she brings Caribeanaussie to the floor. Her ongoing project weaving cumbia and Latin rhythms with electronic sounds gathered from across the globe. A midday journey through warmth, depth, and feeling.
This one goes out to Totó la Momposina, the voice of Colombia’s Caribbean soul, who spent a lifetime making sure the world never forgot the sound of cumbia. She passed away last Sunday, May 17, at 85. Expect some of her tracks woven through the set. Because the music she protected never dies, it just keeps travelling. This one’s for her.
Tune into hear her guest mix on Ibiza In September this Thurs May 21st 12pm
