This Friday on Diggin’ Down UnderDatsuzoku will be presenting some deep and groovy selections whilst chatting with the Artist Dig of the Month who hails from Melbourne and goes by the artist name Mr.Pitiful. Charles aka Mr.Pitiful who is also the founder of Natural Selections one of Melbourne’s renowned record store based in Fitzroy will be performing an exclusive mix for our patrons in Australia and overseas.

MR. PITIFUL

With his determination and passion for music, he landed his first residency in 2000 at the era-defining Parisian nightclub: Les Bains Douches. Charles-Eddy Vitry quickly made a name for himself in Paris.

Working at 12INCH Record Store and regularly spinning jazz groove, hip-hop and house he developed a perplexing ability to mix anything from rock ‘n’ roll to electro; soul to house; acid jazz to minimal tech at clubs such as Le Rex Club, Le Queen, Le Bataclan and more around France. In 2007 he decided to branch out, playing in New York, Montreal and Barcelona, he will do a final shift to Australia, where he has been settling since. Mix, sample, juggle, scratch, cut, produce; Mr Pitiful can do it all, and was quick to establish himself in Melbourne, both in the club and festival scene’s which will lead him to secure him job in two of the most established Record Store in town: Alley Tunes and Bounce Audio.

He has played at Strawberry Fields since its inaugural year in 2008, Rainbow Serpent for their 20 years anniversary, Maitreya, Yemaya and countless renegades at Festival.

He has been playing along artists like Dj Deep, Archie Hamilton, No Regular Play, Dusky, D’Julz, Huxley, East End Dubs, Deetron to name a few at venue such as: Glamorama ,161, Revolver, Toff In Town, Railway Hotel, My Aeon and more around the globe.
