This Months special guest is EKANTA (BR)

BIO:

Connected to the forces of nature and guided by a genuine calling for art, Ekanta has influenced an entire generation of producers and become an example for women in the scene. A psytrance pioneer in Brazil and the creator of Universo Paralello — one of the most respected festivals on the planet — she didn’t just play on the biggest dancefloors: she built them.

30 years ago, Ekanta left Brazil for the Netherlands to immerse herself in the epicenter of global electronic music. She returned with a vision that would transform the Brazilian psychedelic scene forever. She mentored over 40 DJs, opened doors for an entire generation, and planted the roots of a movement that remains alive and pulsing.

As a music producer, Ekanta is at her best. Her albums Raízes Eletrônicas (2014) and Vozes (2021, via Vagalume Records) embody a journey of reconnection: sacred chants, indigenous voices, and the infinite possibilities of psytrance, filtered through a producer who masters both essence and contemporary technique. Trained in Amsterdam, all her musical references feed into her creative process.

Ekanta’s relationship with every aspect of her life is one of symbiosis: everything connects and transforms mutually. Family is a driving force as powerful as any individual achievement — especially now, as she enjoys the presence of her grandchildren, which renewed her inspiration to keep creating music that deeply moves whoever is near.
