Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Mike Steva is an International House Music DJ & Producer who has produced and released over 100 releases to this date. Steva produces and works with Artists and Record Labels such as Dixon & Ame (Innervisions), Osunlade (Yoruba Records), Louie Vega (Masters at Work), Simon Dunmore (Defected, Glitterbox), Bedouin and Mo Black to name a few.

Steva is an artist who composes organic rhythms in a contemporary format. His music embodies a richness and depth in culture with a texture that signifies the Mike Steva sound! He is constantly pushing the boundaries with music, fusing the organic and electronic spheres, in a vast array of original and folkloric songs with ethnic & world instruments, electronic soundscapes and most importantly his signature drums and percussive rhythms!

Steva’s talents as an artist were noticed by Osunlade in 2010 on his inaugural tour to Australia and it wasn’t too long before the House Music legend signed Steva to his prestigious Deep House Label Yoruba Records in 2012. Given a platform to be heard all over the world, Steva’s music was able to flourish and capture a global audience! His first EP titled ‘Visions of Paradise’ an eclectic 3 track EP, featured New Begginin’ which was signed to the Most Rated Ibiza 2013 compilation by Defected Records, it also featured the ever so sweet soulful vocals of Georg Levin, in the song Moment in Time, and the underground piano driven anthem ‘Chiko’, this EP showcased Steva’s maturity as an artist and announced him to the music world!

It wasn’t too long before Steva released his debut album titled ‘Who Am I’ in 2014. Dubbed the ‘Golden Child’ of Yoruba Records, Steva’s Album was inhaled as a breath of fresh air into the House Music World! His hit song ‘Oro’ swept dance floors into a frenzy the world over and the other hit duet vocal ‘Weekend Love’ caught the attention of House Music legend and Master At Work himself, Louie Vega who provided his own remix for the song. ‘Who Am I’ features many timeless cuts and the album, like all of Steva’s music, tells a unique story from start to finish. It was nominated in the top 100 albums in 2014 at the Worldwide Awards by Giles Peterson, alongside artists such as Detroit Legend Moodymann. A truly great feat for an artist who has stayed grounded and focused only on the music!

‘Who Am I’ was remixed in 2016 by the likes of Louie Vega, Osunlade, Atjazz, Djeff, Raoul K, Manoo, Seven Davis Jnr and many more, it added a different take to an already stellar original. 2017 saw a rare collaboration between Osunlade and Mike Steva in the song called ‘Recovery Music’. The song recorded in Santorini, was released on Osunlade’s album ‘The Quieter You Become, The More You Hear. Recovery Music is an organic chill out song that provides a healing soundscape to whoever listens. It has captured a range of different listeners from all around the world and has featured heavily in Spotify playlists, with over 300k plays for a chill out song, it showcases Steva’s diversity as an artist and producer.

Steva’s 4 Track EP ‘ Birds Of Paradise’ released in 2018 was a forward thinking EP that both engages and pushes boundaries, with 4 very different intriguing cuts including standouts Love Symphonik, The Message and Zensko Oro, this release showcases the different dimensions to Mike Steva. 2019 saw Steva release his inaugural Deeper Roots Music release with ‘Zemya’ translating into Earth in English, it’s paying homage to the ancestors and the earth, a perfect segway into . . .

Steva’s 2nd Artist Album ‘Earth Mother’ released in 2020 is an ode to Mother Earth, the album provides a positive, healing, nurturing musical scope, with live instrumentation and collaborations, the album continues the ever evolving story of Mike Steva.

Other releases in 2020 include a Disco release for Glitterbox, under the alias Space Funk with the track A Love Like This.

Later in 2020 Steva released his much anticipated and very well received debut on the astound Innervisions Label run by Ame & Dixon out of Berlin. The debut EP titled ‘The Sound of the Sun’ is a stellar 4 track EP which has blasted Steva even further into the International stratosphere, with full support from Dixon, he is quoted saying “In times where house music is divided into zillions of subgenres, it’s rare to hear a record that ticks all the boxes. Steva is producing music that sounds old- new and future school.” – Dixon

2021 saw the release of Wer2gether & Sweet Memories a stelar 2 track EP on Yoruba Records, showcasing a more Deeper Dance Floor orientated vibration which received major support from DJs in the USA. 2022 also saw Mike release on Bedouins Label Human By Default with a 2 track EP featuring the tracks Tyre and Tribal Salute. Tribal Salute most notably received great support and praise from Electronic music legend Laurent Garnier.

Mike also collaborated with Ghanain Vocalist and Kologo instrumentalists Stevo Atambire in 2022 and the wrote the world wide Afro Hit ‘Destiny Song’ (Pa’ala) which was signed to Defected’s Sondela Records by Simon Dunmore in early 2022. The Record was released in August of 2022 and has been greatly received by fans all over the world, with support from DJs and Producers from all around the globe also. 2022 also saw Mike receive an invitation to perform at the Defected Festival in Croatia, which was also part of his European tour that saw him perform in front of 5000 people at the Ceco Fest in an ancient fortress, Deep in the European Mountains.
