MAXI BASSHEAD
This week on Talking Tunes we have that mysterious Maxi Basshead joining us in the studio. A wizard of sound design and a master of satire, this talented and diverse performer has played at some of Australia’s most iconic festivals such as; Strawberry Fields, Babylon, Tanglewood and Maitreya. This has lead him to support the likes of Justin Martin, Carl Cox, Infected Mushroom and much more.
His music combines a massive range of styles found in and around the Australian psychedelic scene like; bush techno, hi-tech minimal, tech house, glitch hop and psytrance. His productions are a bass-heavy journey into the heartland of Australian underground techno and house music with an cheeky dose of attitude.
His tracks (and identity) are a well-kept secret amongst the techno community, many of them unreleased. Working with big names in the scene like Grouch they’ve found their way into the hands of some of the countries most well-known DJs and have been showcased on the mainstage of internationally recognised parties including Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake, Earthcore to name a few.
He’ll be coming in to show us what he’s been working on lately as well as giving us a taste of what influenced him to become one of bush techno1’s most talented recluse. We’ll also find out about the debut of his upcoming label Fine Form Music where we’ll hopefully be able to purchase his extensive back catalogue of unreleased bangers!
Don’t miss out and make sure you tune in every Thursday from 9am with host Deltoid Curve (aka The Cush)
