This week on FORUM we have curator and writer Dr Ewen Jarvis.
Dr Ewen Jarvis is the Curator of the Yering Station Art Gallery at the historic Yering Station winery in the Yarra Valley.
Since 1998, the Yering Station Art Gallery has seen hundreds of emerging and established artists exhibiting across four exhibition spaces, one of which is an outdoor sculpture area set within the beautifully designed gardens of Michael McCoy.
As part of the arts program, each year Ewen coordinates and curates the iconic Yarra Valley Arts / Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition & Awards, which is one of the longest-running and most prestigious contemporary sculpture exhibitions in Victoria.
It is owing to the vision of the Rathbone family of Yering Station that artists and the estates winemakers continue to honour the age-old artisan connection between fine wine and the arts.
In addition to his role as a curator, Ewen is also a professional writer with a background in teaching and screenwriting.
Ewen holds a Dr of Philosophy from the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Professional Writing and Literary Studies, along with formal qualifications in acting, creative writing and business.
Ewen is one of the most fabulous people you could meet, and we are delighted to have Ewen on FORUM to talk about one of my favourite galleries and wineries in Australia.
