CIPTA – GOOD GUYS NEVER WIN TOY COMPANY | GUEST INTERVIEW | FORUM | LEE-ANN JOY | MON 8:30 – 10 PM

This week on FORUM, our guest artist is Cipta, founder and director of the Good Guys Never Win Toy Company.

The Good Guys Never Win is a toy company that fabricates with a sense of humour to create punchy and fun toys that lend themselves to satire within the themes of Australian politics and jargon.

Originally from Jakarta, Cipta’s profession was in the TV industry, where his creative skills had him casting in resin to create props for an Indonesian TV station.

Outside of the office hours, Cipta was creating and casting toy artworks, and in 2005 he was invited to Jarkarta’s first ever Toy Fair, and it was there that the Good Guys Never Win was launched and established.

Cipta has recently arrived in Melbourne to expand new horizons and to kickstart a toy scene of his own and bring the art of toys to the Australian public.

Having just completed his first successful exhibition called ‘This Is Not A Toy’, at the Ben Frost Gallery in Richmond, we are lucky to know that his first exhibition is one of four, scheduled to take place over the next year.

Please join us on FORUM to welcome Cipta and talk about art, toys and satire.
