KISS FM is proud to announce a FIRST for Australian Radio.

On Monday 22th February, 2016 from 6am ‘we’ ie Australia, commence our LIVE RADIO BATTLE – against Holland – OOG Radio. This is our first heat in the RADIO BATTLE.

This is the first time a Non-European country has participated. And KISS has been selected to represent Australia.

So far Italy, Serbia, Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia have qualified.

Radio Battle is like the Eurovision of Radio and is put on by the Public Broadcaster of Italy RAI 2.

We are immensely proud.  Australia, you are going to have to wake up early to Vote for KISS as our battle will go live Australian time 6am – 7am.

TIMMY BYRNE will represent Australia – Drive Host, Station Manager, DJ, Chart writer, and breaker of practially every great dance hit since 1994 via the radiowaves, he’s our man.

The program

The second edition of RadioBattle, the radio European Championship, organized by Radio 2, is in full swing. This year Stations will compete in rounds of music with 16 countries – from Germany to Sweden, from Ireland to Estonia – with a ‘transoceanic’ participation: that of Australia, special guest nation.

RadioBattle is the first radio program produced and exported by Rai entirely in English and is unique on the world, so much so that last season led to gather an audience global spread of millions of listeners in Europe, Asia and Oceania.

The start of the second edition will take place on a stage of honor: the Eurosonic, the prestigious Dutch international festival. From January 17 RadioBattle will air every Sunday at 20:00 . Philip Solibello , historic conductor Caterpillar AM – the dawn of radio 2 program – will be referee and conductor: in English, with the ability for each team to use their own language, we will hear a fun and colorful sound flow that will allow the radio to talk the universal language of music.

How to vote? The Winner will decided by the public, who can vote for their favorite via Twitter and choose to point to point which nation will pass the turn. In the previous edition, won by Latvia , during the final was reached the record figure of 98,000 tweets in just one hour of program.“RadioBattle” has a Twitter account, @ radiobattle1 and a Facebook page,facebook.com/radiobattle1 common to all radios. The vote to elect the Radio Champion of Europe 2016 will take place with the vote on Twitter expressed through individual hashtag representing the various nations.
