This Wednesday 4 Feb, we’re diving deep into Melbourne hip hop history ahead of the premiere of UNDENIABLE – The Evolution of Melbourne Hip Hop.
Joining me in studio:
Daniel Hayward & Dimes — part of the directing and producing team behind the film
One Sixth — one of the legendary MCs highlighted in the documentary
Grizzly Bastard — contributor to the soundtrack and a supporter of the film’s creation
UNDENIABLE is an unapologetically Melbourne story — built on culture, community, accents, localisms, and that DIY mentality that’s defined hip hop in this city for decades. From breaking and graffiti to underground rap battles and mainstream success, this film captures how Melbourne forged its own voice within a global culture.
This isn’t just a music doc — it’s a time capsule.
A story about identity, survival, expression, friendship, legacy, and growth — and how hip hop gave generations a platform to speak and create.
We’ll be talking about the making of the film, the trust it took to tell these stories, the evolution of Melbourne hip hop, and spotlighting music connected to the soundtrack and the culture and of course some of the crew will be jumping on the Spitfire Sessions.
UNDENIABLE premieres Feb 10 at Palace Kino
