This week we’re joined by two artists who have each made a lasting contribution to Australian hip hop in their own right Traz & Discourse.

Melbourne MC Traz has carved out his own lane with thoughtful lyricism, genre-blending production and a strong collaborative spirit, while Discourse has spent many years helping shape the Australian hip hop landscape. As a producer, designer, filmmaker and former head of the iconic Crate Cartel, his creative fingerprints can be found across countless respected Australian releases.

Together they’ve created Stained Ivory, a rich, introspective full-length album that beautifully balances classic sample-based boom bap with modern, textured production. Originally intended as just a two-track collaboration, the chemistry between the pair quickly grew into a complete body of work, layered with soulful instrumentation, scratches, incredible musicianship and deeply reflective songwriting.

We’ll be diving into the creative process behind the record, the stories that shaped it, and what it was like bringing such a cohesive project to life.

The show also comes just ahead of the Stained Ivory Album Launch on Thursday July 10 at Northcote Social Club, so we’ll be getting the inside word before they hit the stage.

Plus they’ll be stepping into the Spit Fire Sessions for a live performance.
