Next week on Kickin’ It With Katija the show is all about the ladies.

Ahead of the upcoming MISS RIPE event, we’re bringing some of the incredible women involved into the studio for a special celebration of female hip-hop culture. Joining us will be a few of the headline artists and some of the women stepping up for the MISS RIPE cypher, and members of the Restless Records crew, who continue to create opportunities and platforms for female DJs within the culture.

We’ll be talking about the vision behind MISS RIPE, the importance of creating safer and more inclusive spaces within hip hop, the journeys of the artists involved, and what people can expect from the event.

MISS RIPE is more than just a lineup. All profits from the event will be donated to the Red Heart Movement, led by journalist and activist Sherele Moody , helping raise awareness around domestic and gender-based violence while supporting important conversations and community action.

For the entire two-hour show we’ll be spinning nothing but Australian female hip hop, showcasing some of the incredible talent we have right across the country.

Then for the final half hour, we’ll be taking over the Mix Lab with a live cypher featuring these artists involved in the event.
