Roll up & roll in – the Dub Circus is about to begin!

For the first time outside of WA, the Freo Dub Club & Red Earth Dub Circus (REDC) are rolling into Melbourne (Naarm), joining forces with Rudi Sound System and a local all-star crew for a massive night of dub, roots, and reggae culture at the Evelyn Hotel Bandroom!

The Red Earth Dub Circus is the collective behind WA’s Freo Dub Club events, a ragtag bunch of musical activists dedicated to promoting sound system culture in Western Australia.

REDC is an international collective of event producers, artists, creatives, sound nerds, and circus performers. Established in 2021, they emerged from a group of friends craving a home for musical diversity, focusing on genres from dub and sound system culture to global underground music. While bringing top-quality acts to WA’s remote shores is challenging with a lack of scene & infrastructure, our past year has seen incredible resonance within local communities, with events regularly selling out—proving that dub & sound system culture is alive and thriving in WA.

REDC and Freo Dub Club are built on community, inclusivity, and rebel music. They aim to create safe spaces based on respect, consent, and kindness, standing against racism, homophobia, and discrimination, and in solidarity with oppressed communities worldwide.

After three years of hosting fundraising events, they’re now in the final stages of launching WA’s first homegrown dub sound system – REDC Sound System!  For their first-ever interstate session, they’re linking up with Rudi Sound System for a Free Sunday Session (remember to RSVP) and some of Naarm’s finest.

Representing the Red Earth Dub Circus will be its founding members: Ringmaster Mikey (Vanuatu/Fremantle) – commanding the mic & selection and keeping the energy high! Acid Dub Foundation (Berlin/Fremantle) – your favorite psychedelic Dub Affair.
