Arguably Australia’s first ‘Superstar DJ’, Simon ”Groove Terminator”  Lewicki has been at the top of his game as both a DJ and music industry professional for over 34 years. The first DJ to sign to a major label in Australia, his breakout single for Virgin, the Big Beat flavoured “Hair” soundtrack sampling  – One More time (The Sunshine Song) went top 20 in several countries including Australia & France while almost at the same time under the disco-tinged alias Chili HiFly he scored the pole position Australian and US Billboard dance chart #1 single “Is It Love” in 2001 which opened the gates for a flood of new Antipodean talent to the world, culminating in Gold records and ground breaking nominations for Best New Artist & Male Artist at the ARIA Awards with his debut album Roadkill.

In the mid-2000’s Simon teamed up with Sam Littlemore (Pnau, Gwen Stefani, Black Eye Peas) to form electro-pop act Tonite Only, who dominated the early global electro club scene with their irresistible singles and remixes for the likes of Sneaky Sound System and The Similou.

Teaming up with Ministry Of Sound Australia since its inception, mixing the very first compilations, touring nationally as a DJ and recording artist he’s also in recent years been working with Ministry of Sound Australia as the Creative Director and DJ / Host for their massively successful national touring Orchestral Classics show as well as being head of A+R for the Music Publishing division -120 publishing which he co-founded in 2010 helping A+R hit singles for acts like PS1, Savage & Timmy Trumpet.

Currently Simon is working and touring with 3 x Grammy winners – Soweto Gospel Choir on their award-winning show History Of House as well as recording an album bringing the sound of Sth Africa and house music together in what is being described as Paul Simon’s Graceland meets Moby’s Play by all who have heard it so far.

History of House, an extraordinary collaboration between ARIA-nominated DJ Groove Terminator and three-time Grammy®-winners Soweto Gospel Choir, will kick off its Australian tour at Darwin Festival (Aug 10-12) before taking in Brisbane Festival (Sep 10), Sydney (Oct 6), Castlemaine (Oct 20) Melbourne (Oct 21 and 28), and Gold Coast (Nov 3).

In a nutshell: Take the world’s greatest gospel choir who have performed live with stars including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Bono, Queen and Celine Dion, add in some funky 70s disco, sprinkle in some 80s pop and then strap in to be schooled in house music, from the mid 80s, through the 90s, to the end of the millennium.

Behind the decks is Groove Terminator, one of Australia’s biggest DJs, who has captivated dancefloors with his club classics for more than three decades.
