Kiss FM - Dance Music Australia

FLUIR | GUEST MIX | 3PM FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2020

In support of the release of her four track EP Just Us – Fluir has put together an exclusive mix for Kiss FM – Listen Up!

Merging electronic influences with pop, Fluir releases her highly anticipated four track debut EP “Just Us” through Rola Door Records in partnership with Ditto Music. This multitalented artist is a professional producer, songwriter and DJ, and last year Fluir launched her own label with electronic musician, Sparrows.

The title track to her EP “Just Us” is entirely self-produced and to celebrate the release of the EP Fluir has recorded a visually arresting performance.

Fluir’s EP “Just Us” showcases Fluir’s profound coming-of-age by exploring the complex and often dark side to the creative process.

At the time I wrote “Just Us”, Fluir explains “First and foremost, I wanted the EP to shine a light on the highs and lows of creativity. At the time of writing the EP, I wasn’t yet where I wanted to be with my music in terms of ‘success’.  When I looked more closely at what I defined as ‘successful’ however, I realised that it’s an ever-moving target governed by ego, shifting with every key milestone reached. I felt like I was driving myself mad and losing sight of why I started writing music in the first place. It wasn’t until I wrote the title track ‘Just Us’ – the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written – that I felt my perception had been recalibrated and I’d found my love for music once more.”

Second track “Same Flame” sees Fluir showcase her ingenious songwriting, she adds “The lyrics came together really quickly also, I don’t recall consciously writing them, it’s like they fell out onto the paper in front of me. It was only once I’d finished that I realised what the song was about, a reflection on past friendships/relationships that irreversibly become a part of you”.

The remaining tracks on Fluirs EP are “Another World” and “Make Me Feel”. “Another World“ is the darkest track on the EP with its heavy bassline, and “Make Me Feel” rounds up the EP on a high note about “wasting away your weekends and being genuinely happy.”
