Hailing from Aotearoa (New Zealand), Defect is a DJ renowned for his bass-heavy rhythms and soulful melodies.

Before taking centre stage as a DJ, Defect showcased his musical ability as a bass player in several bands. This extensive experience gave him a profound understanding of rhythm, groove, and the unique ability to read a crowd and connect with them.

Presently living in Naarm (Melbourne, AU), Defect seamlessly combines the analogue charm of vinyl with a contemporary digital approach. An avid vinyl collector at heart, his genuine passion for this medium is reflected in his performances.

Defect’s DJ career includes appearances and guest mixes on prominent radio shows and stages. He has graced the airwaves of renowned platforms such as Orbital Radio, (AUS) Hydration Mix Series, 170+ Recordings (CAN), Rinse N Wash show (Bassdrive) and Drop FM in Queenstown, Aotearoa (NZ).
