Franky Wah announces This Is SHÈN. A new 27-track mixtape featuring unreleased music from one of the most exciting talents in dance music today,This Is SHÈN will be released on November 25th via Franky’s own label, SHÈN Recordings.
Revealing the first details of a vault of new music which has been played out in Franky’s sets all year, This Is SHÈN is unveiled with a new collaborative single with dance music visionary Sasha. I’ll Never Change (SHÈN Edit) is released today and was written as two versions by Sasha and Franky in 2021. Originally, I’ll Never Change featured on Sasha’s celebrated 2021 album LUZoSCURA with Franky’s SHÈN Edit marking the opening taster of a run of new singles from his upcoming mixtape. 27 tracks which epitomise SHÈN Recordings, Franky’s forthcoming mixtape is the UK artist’s most career-defining body of work to date. Showcasing his eclectic style from house, techno and the melodic elements which swiftly have become his trademark, each track continues to demonstrate Franky’s ability to create highly emotive productions designed for late night and early morning dance floors. The coming weeks will see Franky release a string of new singles, with the mixtape featuring collaborations with vocalists Robinson, Luisant and Lunar June. Also set to arrive on the mixtape’s release day in November, Franky will debut a live mix of This Is SHÈN in its entirety within a full cinematic video.“This mixtape was a project that initially started out as 8 tracks. Through multiple rounds of revisions, 8 tracks then turned into 27 as I had so much music that I was sitting on.
I’ve been playing most of these records in my sets for a while now and seeing the reaction to them, it was clear that they needed to see the light of day. I think this mixtape is definitely one for the fans and a way for me to give back the records that they’ve stayed until the early hours of the morning at my shows for.” –Franky Wah
