Kiss FM - Dance Music Australia

Dylan Griffin Radio Bueno

It is incredible to think that Radio Bueno started a decade ago, thanks to Dylan.

We joined forces to create a series of events called Bueno, in the defunct (and naughty) and now revived into a gastro pub Railway Hotel.
The aim of those events was to have fun, whilst proposing really GOOD music, and at the time, a way to have a voice, was on the radio.
Dylan had a long running show in Kiss FM Australia called AU Underground, featuring lots of cool music from international and local acts; and after some discussions, he decided he wanted to have some help running a weekly show. I, Acid Safari, used to do radio for a long time back in Spain, so I jumped into the opportunity and the rest is history!

Radio Bueno was created. I try keeping the ethos of GOOD MUSIC, although I tend to lean more on the techno side of things, I also enjoy, and play out, house music quite often, so this Thursday, I am looking forward to get a lil lesson on current HOUSE MUSIC tendencies from one of the best in the biz to come out from Oz.

A firm believer in versatility Dylan Griffin has cultivated the kind of career that sees him effortlessly wear the two hats of Producer & DJ with maturity and respect to the two different skill sets they each require. As a DJ with a foundational repertoire of over 15 years Dylan’s been expressing and performing all forms of house, minimal and techno at Australia’s most famed clubs and festivals for over a decade. And as a producer you’ll see productions being released on some of the underground’s most favoured imprints.
With multiple records coming out on USA’s highly respected and pioneering Little Helpers as well as exclusive digital & vinyl releases with Rich NXT’s label What NXT, dance music behemoth Poker Flat for their sister label Sublease Music and Whoyostro among others. With releases on vinyl and digital the records have been well received by press publications like Trommel, Meoko, 6AM, Faze Magazine, Magnetic Magazine & Constant Circles among others.
The production output is ongoing and Dylan’s original works have been directly supported by the likes of Steve Bug, Archie Hamilton, Rich NXT, Robag Wruhme (at Watergate), Joris Voorn (on his radio show), Doubting thomas, Alexkid, Mihai Popiviciu & John Digweed (multiple times on his radio show) and all this is to name just a few. And recently his personal selections curated for Poker Flat have been publicly promoted and supported by Richie Hawtin.
Regularly billed on meticulous lineups across the country and further afield have solidified Dylan Griffin’s career, with the obvious standouts being a long and ongoing history with two of the most famed club brands in the country Revolver in Melbourne and SASH in Sydney to which he plays both regularly. As well as being the longest running resident DJ at at the penultimate Subsonic Music Festival Dylan has also had peak time festival appearances at Rainbow Serpent, Let Them Eat Cake, Earth Frequency, Elements, Esoteric and Piknic Electronik. With headlining club shows for over 10 years at esteemed establishments across the east coast of Australia like Oxford Art Factory, Home Nightclub, Elsewhere, My Aeon, New Guernica, Music Room, the notorious Breakfast Club and the aforementioned iconic institutions Revolver and SASH. Offshore, he has headlined shows in Denmark, Thailand, India, Mexico and Singapore.
Locally and true to his foundations, Dylan pioneered Australia’s premier electronic podcast series ‘AU Underground’, showcasing some of the country’s emerging talent to the most well- accomplished of the underground realm, with a strong and loyal listenership it now leans heavily on the deep house and minimal house aesthetic. Over the years AU Underground has morphed into a well known club brand within Australia doing showcases at the countries hottest clubs a select few times a year and has hosted the likes of Subb-An, Archie Hamilton, Nima Gorji, Butane, Christian Burkhardt and others.
Not one to follow trends Dylan has been fostering an infinite combination of the driving & groove based elements of the house and techno worlds for over 15 years now. With not many Australian dance music institutions that Dylan hasn’t graced he has cemented an enduring reputation across dance floors then, now and into the future.
