| Mortisville | Thurs 1 – 2 |

It’s going to be quite a quirky afternoon in the Kiss studios today, as I have invited the King of all things strange, fun & soulful to join me in what will certainly be an eclectic expedition. I’m fascinated to talk all things music, and hear what influences his taste in music and way of being.

Based in Melbourne, Mortisville has been one of the driving forces behind the growth of Electro Swing and Vintage Remix in Australia. Having promoted nights in Melbourne for the last 5 years, he now co-runs the hugely successful Electro Swing Club Australia, which regularly sells out to over 1000 people and has hosted artists such as Electric Swing Circus, Slamboree, Grant Lazlo, Incontrol, Dr Cat, Dutty Moonshine and The Chicken Brothers. As a DJ, Mortisville has rocked stages at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival and Boomtown in the UK, as well Goulash Disco in Croatia and a host of festivals in Australia. These include, Rainbow Serpent, WOMADELAIDE, Maitreya, Strawberry Fields, Subsonic and Pleasure Garden to name but a few. He also has a number of successful releases under his belt, having worked with Grant Lazlo, Incontrol, Ragtime Records, Green Queen Music, Gentlemen Callers and many more…

Tune in today to hear the man that is, Mortisville.
And in the meantime, check out his variable vibe:

And also check out his up-and-coming event that will be showcasing here at our beloved Rubix Warehouse:

Philosophia Sin

Having spent a large part of her formative years experiencing the pure, personal joys of merging vinyl together in her bedroom whilst amassing an aural arsenal of spellbinding records, Sophia made a fateful decision to let go of what she had (the epic collection) in order to finance her expansive vision (sharing and creating music that means something), That leap of trust has been rewarded - aside from music festivals and other special events, Sophia holds down wheel-spinning duties at multiple venues, including her almost five year residency at legendary Melbourne institution Revolver Upstairs. Her burgeoning reputation (and infectious enthusiasm between the monitors) has also given Sophia the chance to share line-ups with some of the most respected international names in the industry, including Stimming, Maceoplex, Alexkidd, Jay Lumen and Mark Henning. And now the next step has recently been taken in Sophia's music affair: a left field production career that eschews the usual 'paint by numbers' playbook (and strictly-enforced 'genre defining traits') of cookie cutter releases. In creating a soothing-but-not-saccharine alchemy of her voice and her own music recordings, she has remained true to her diverse inner soundscape whilst assembling a "world-ly" style that funkily-straddles the border between dubstep and triphop, with a loving nod to tech and deep house thrown into the brew for good measure. With her first hit "Singing In The Rain" reaching the top 10 in the beatport Chillout charts, she is only getting warmed up to bigger and brighter musings.
