First up, we have an extra special LIVE set from none other than EgbertLIVE which promises to subscribe to the producer’s warm, upbeat and irresistible brand of techno.

Next, an acclaimed Australian favourite – Secret Cinema who, for more than 25 years has been seated firmly on the leading edge of techno.

Ten years ago, a young producer named Egbert turned up on Dutch techno legend Secret Cinema’s doorstep with a hard disk full of literally hundreds of unreleased tracks. He had been sitting alone in his parents’ loft making music for over a decade by then without ever playing his music in public. This moment marked the start of one of the most exciting and powerful techno acts from the Netherlands: Secret Cinema & Egbert LIVE.

It was a turning point for both artists. Jeroen ‘Secret Cinema’ Verheij had been playing live for the first 15 years of his career. It was the live set that made him the first Dutch artist ever to close Awakenings Festival with only artists such as Hawtin, Beyer and Cox doing the honours in years before. It was also the live set that contained absolute classics such as Timeless Altitude and Meng’s Theme under his Point Blank moniker. But then, in 2007 Verheij decided it was time to get more freedom to play a different sound than strictly his own productions. The start of Secret Cinema’s DJ career.

It was during Verheij’s search for new and unreleased music to fuel his DJ sets that he came across Egbert. He signed the young artist to his Gem Record label and booking agency. It didn’t take long for the two to get together on stage and in the studio.

The now illustrious collaboration resulted in one of 2016’s biggest techno tracks ‘Maximaal’ and got Secret Cinema & Egbert touring every corner of the globe together including Watergate Berlin, Loveland Festival and Music On Ibiza. One of their most notable gigs though, is their yearly sold out 6 hour all night showcase at Amsterdam’s Melkweg which has been running since 2012.

Secret Cinema & Egbert look ahead to highlights such as Egbert celebrating his 10 year anniversary in music with a documentary, a release on Gem Records and a beach party. Secret Cinema keeps building the Gem brand with an ADE Showcase planned at Dockyard.
