A Melbourne jazz band is bringing Vice City to life where the band and audience are both in on the grand theft experience. Jazz Theft Auto blends the iconic Grand Theft Auto soundtrack with commentary on Vice City’s morally anarchic underworld.
JTA prompts you to consider: “How can modern content be original when everything has already been stolen?” and welcomes you to a unique and interactive jazz-video game fantasy.

Alec is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of jazz events, interactive performance and video game possibility. Jazz Theft Auto is the first in a series of musical iterations. For him, the ears are the way in to the heart, and violent video games are the way to a berserk and vivid theatre worth exploring.
