Event Details

It’s CHI WOW WAH TOWN ’s tenth anniversary – Australia’s most open-minded boutique electronic music,

arts, performance and wellness festival launched over the final weekend of February 2014 and the three-day camping event is returning to that slot on the calendar in 2024.

Get ready to rediscover nature to a soundtrack of deep organic house, techno, ambient and global electronic sounds.

CWWT has always been rooted in the life force “Chi”. It’s right there, embedded in the festival name, gesturing towards the event’s focus on fostering love, nourishing and revitalizing the spirit, and unlocking one’s potential. For its tenth birthday, the CWWT community, which is capped at an intimate 2500pax, will Return to Source and reengage with the festival’s founding motives.

The tenth-anniversary lineup features 14 international acts and 31 domestic artists spanning live performances and DJ sets.

Wellness, Healing and the Night of the Howling Moon

The team at CWWT HQ are not exaggerating when they say this will be an unforgettable weekend. CWWT is one of the most unique boutique festival experiences in the world, catering to just 2500 people. Beyond the deep, glowing hub of ecstasy that is the main stage arena, the three-day camping event is set up to make everyone feel completely free.

The Winton Wetlands event site – on Yorta Yorta Country, two hours north of Melbourne – is one of Victoria’s superior stargazing sites. During the daylight hours, punters can physically and spiritually immerse themselves in the area’s unsullied natural beauty, while meal times offer a chance to dine in nature and feel more in tune with the cycles and desires of the body.

The Saturday night of this year’s festival will be the Night of the Howling Moon ritual. The entire festival will join together to enact the ancient ritual of howling at the full moon. By releasing pent-up energy and difficult emotions, Chi Wow Wah-ians will gain a deeper connection with the natural world.

With on-site sound healing, yoga, and mind, body and spirit workshops, the three-day event will emphasise mind expansion. You’ll also be able to hop in a hot air balloon for a one-hour ride at sunrise, thereby witnessing the sprawling Winton Wetlands and surrounding Yorta Yorta Country from above.

Festival director Ewan Scott aka Uone says “CHI WOW WAH TOWN is not simply an occasion to break free from the shackles of the 40-hour work week, but to cleanse, reboot, and attain collective effervescence”

The concept of “collective effervescence” refers to a feeling of shared enlightenment, inspiration and non-egoistic joy. From this state of spiritual elevation, CWWT punters can leave the festival with more than just good memories and dusty personal items. You’ll be on a high that lasts – a deep and creative high, rich in empathy and optimism for the future.
