Chris Parkes aka PARKES has been in and around the electronic music scene for the last 12 years. A
penchant for his mothers soul and disco collection, along with some questionable R&B choices from
the late 90s, led to an obsession with house and techno that really took off in 2016 as part of the
legendary mono_cult crew. mono_cult ran some of the most forward-thinking parties and line ups in
the UK for over 10 years supporting emerging and established local and international artists at the
time such as Nina Kraviz, Soundstream, Bicep, Tensnake, Midland, Miguel Campbell, Reboot, Space
Dimension Controller, Ame, Dixon, Simon Baker, and Wbeeza to name just a few. PARKES has also
spent time turned his hand to writing for the industry writing for online music magazines, a few
record labels (20/20 Visions’ little sister FINA Records) and creating copy for major releases.

After four years out of the game and a move to Australia, PARKES now heads up WYT CAT FOX who
focus on a mix of promoted and word of mouth parties in and around Melbourne. A new bi monthly
mix series focussing on highly curated house and disco is available on Soundcloud with the next
instalment coming from WCF resident, Bamford.
