Introducing Emelyne for the first time on Modern Hypnosis!

Emelyne is a familiar face around Melbourne’s music scene. You may have heard her voice on the PBS airwaves as the co-host/producer of The Blend or seen her serving behind the counter at Northside records on Gertrude St.

She has long been an integral part of the music community and is known to many in Melbourne having worked behind the scenes with the cities finest venues and events, from those at Lounge, Section 8, the RMBA monthly series to CDR, working with a variety of international and local DJs, bands and producers. Emelyne has been a key member of the team working for world class festivals within Australia, such as Strawberry Fields, Meredith and Golden Plains, as well as the best in Europe, from Dimensions, Outlook and Soundwave.

While a relative newcomer to DJing, her extensive knowledge of music lets her sets blend through modern gems from beats, hip hop, bass music, dub, broken beat, future grooves and experimental electronic music to modern funk, boogie, soul and jazz. Her versatility has already led to a series of support slots across Melbourne’s best venues, with both up and coming artists and heavily established crews.

In addition Emelyne curates her own monthly night Canopy at Ferdyduke in which she focuses on supporting live underground up and coming artists and DJ’s across Melbourne, celebrating a variety genres across the spectrum.

All this, along with Emelyne’s eagerness to support local music, as well as expose people to the best the world has to offer, is ample reason to keep your eyes peeled and ears open for this influential member of Melbourne’s music community.
