Kiss FM - Dance Music Australia

Black Madonna Special Broadcast 4pm Monday 26th June

Kiss FM is proud to present a three part radio special from the legendary Black Madonna. Episodes one & two air from 4pm Monday 26th June with part three airing 4pm Monday 3rd July 2017.

“Dance music does not need more of the status quo” THE BLACK MADONNA

The Black Madonna has become one of the world’s most respected DJs, garnering international recognition from her infamous residency at Chicago’s Smart Bar and becoming a regular crowd favourite at the likes of Panorama Bar, Space, Sonar, Dekmantel and more. In 2016 alone, Mixmag crowned her ‘DJ of the Year’, she took #10 in the Resident Advisor Top 100, and Pete Tong made the debut single from her forthcoming album ‘He Is The Voice I Hear’ his Essential New Tune.

A sublime technician behind the decks, The Black Madonna is known for fluent and dynamic sets, which span a wealth of musical genres. She glides through soulful strains, disco-influenced bangers and some straight-up house… with a touch so light it sounds like the records are playing themselves.

The Black Madonna’s highly acclaimed record label ‘We Still Believe’ also gives it’s name to her 13-week residency at the infamous XOYO club in London. Every Friday night throughout April, May and June, she will be found behind the decks working through her eclectic record collection.

For three of these dates, she will play very special ‘All Night Long’ sessions, each with a theme which is close to her heart.

1) ‘The Body Electric’ – April 7th ○ A journey through the history and evolution of electronic and synthesiser music, from early electro right through to modern techno.

2) ‘These Are The Breaks’ – May 5th ○ A trip to ‘The Bass Station’ – from dub to hip-hop and Miami Bass to jungle, discovering some of the rarer records in The Black Madonna’s collection.

3) Love Is The Message’ – July 2nd ○ A exploration of the original soul of dance music, taking in all things jackin’ & disco.

The sessions are all to be recorded.
